1. Krrish (2006)

2. Ra.One (2011)

Anubhav Sinha’s Ra. One was one of the rare Indian science fiction/superhero films that dared to go beyond what anyone could have imagined.

The film included some mad-cool action sequences and a good performance by SRK, telling the story of a programmer named Shekhar who develops a VR video game, the enemy of which comes into the real world to catch the hero, a Shekhar lookalike superhero named G.One. 

3. Mr. India (1987)

This is the only Indian film that has held up over time. It’s been nearly 30 years since the film was released, and it still has a great rewatch value, thanks in large part to the late Shri Amrish Puri Ji, the iconic villain. The story follows Arun, a good guy at heart who discovers a device that allows him to become invisible.

4. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero (2018)

This was one of those films that deserved a lot more applause from the audience than it received. It was one of the Best Indian Superhero Movies the Indian people had ever seen, with some political implications and a grim storyline.

However, because of poor marketing and the lack of a major star, this gem was lost in the void. The film was an outright joy of cinematography, music, acting, and screenplay, following Sikander as he transforms into a superhero to honor the memory of his late companion. It is a winner!

5. Toofan (1989)

If we say this was the first Indian superhero film, we are not exaggerating. The film, which starred Amitabh Bachchan as a nice guy who joins forces with his outlaw brother to seek revenge on Shaitan Singh for the murder of their father, was a box office success when it was released.

It did not, however, stand the test of time and is usually regarded as one of Amitabh’s biggest flops. But give filmmaker Ketan Desai credit for at least deviating from the script and trying something different.

6. Mugamoodi (2012)

Mugamoodi is a Tamil superhero film that rose to prominence thanks to director Mysskin, who is known for his stunning thrillers. The movie did not let me down.

The film dug into some very genuine problems by telling the story of an unhappy martial artist named Bruce who is unable to generate money from his craft. 7. Robot and 2.0 (2011 and 2018)

Thalaivar portrays himself as a superhero in every film, therefore it was only natural that he would do anything related to the genre. He portrays both a scientist and his creation, Chitti the Robot, the superhero in Robot.
